The Hidden Secret in Losing Weight


Yes, you have been doing everything correctly, you count calories, cut out most processed foods and go to the gym four times every week. Here’s the thing about any diet, its true that calories matter, if you eat too many calories from any food, your body has to store those excess calories somewhere – typically as fat. Most convectional diets will never address the effect of food on your hormones.



Calories do matter yes, I agree but hormones matter most. For instance, when you eat 100 calories of cookies, you will have a different hormonal response in your body as compared to 100 calories of broccoli. So, you can’t just eat a low-calorie diet made of cookies and expect to lose weight.
Most of the hormonal imbalances hinge on one big player: INSULIN {our fat storage hormone}. Insulin is a sugar controller, it aids in the extraction of glucose from blood and stores in places like your liver and muscles in a stable form called Glycogen. Now, what is less commonly known is that insulin is also a fat controller, it inhibits something called lipolysis – the release of stored bodyfat. At the same time, it forces the fat cells to take up and store fat from your blood. Insulin makes you fat. High levels lead to increased fat storage, low levels to fat depletion.
The trouble with constantly eating lots of sugary foods, carbohydrate-rich foods and drinks, as we increasingly do is that this requires the release of more and more insulin and consequently you become fatter. Chronically high levels of insulin will result in something called INSULIN RESISTANCE, this means that your body uses insulin less efficiently so you need to produce more in order to digest and utilize carbohydrates effectively. This is not good. And because you are producing more it means that the food you eat will be stored as fat.
